Join the race to cash in on Olympics
More than 3,000 firms in the South East have now registered for the new ‘business-dating agency’, with 88 winning contracts with the ODA for goods and services.
Berkshire businesses are being urged to make use of the “once in a lifetime opportunity” and get involved in the multi-billion pound development of the London Olympics.
500 hundred plus business people attended the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre at Madejski Stadium to see how they can benefit from the approaching Olympic and Paralympic Games, and get a taste of the type of opportunities that will be generated.
Co-hosted by Business Link and SEEDA, the event covered how to apply for the 175,000 contracts (worth an estimated £6 billion). It also demonstrated how to use “CompeteFor”, (an online service set up by Olympic Delivery Authority) to unite buyers and suppliers of London 2012 contracts.
The 2012 Games will offer a great opportunity for all businesses in the South East creating the chance to bid for public sector and international contracts in the future, creating a more sustainable business.
