Business Review Helps Infineo With Growth Plans
When Ann Merrick of Thatcham-based IT firm Infineo contacted Business Link about a small business review, she had little idea just how effective the process would be. As well as the clarity and focus the business review brings, Ann and business partner Iain Brighton are enjoying the benefits of an elevated profile within the business community.
Ann initially read about the small business review on the pages of Business in Berkshire and decided it would be worth pursuing. Currently in their 3rd year of trading, Infineo provide high quality and affordable IT support and services for a low monthly subscription. They also provide IT equipment and software.
The Business Link business review appealed to Ann as an ideal opportunity to review the current status of Infineo and refocus on plans for the future. ‘Spending so much time working in the business means you can occasionally lose sight of your longer-term goals’ explains Ann, ‘so the business review made complete sense as a way to review our plans with the help of an expert adviser’. A consultant from Business Link spent a few hours with Ann going through her business plan, the strengths and weaknesses of the business, plans for the future and so on.
Following on from the business review, Business Link sent Ann a report detailing some recommendations and appropriate action points, all of which have proved extremely helpful. ‘I’ve been delighted with the service received from Business Link and can thoroughly recommend the business review process’ says Ann, ‘Business Link have been proactive, supportive, and enthusiastic throughout’. Indeed, Ann has since been through the same process again, this time for a financial review of her business.
As well as focusing on the growth of their core business, Infineo have recently launched www.itforgirls.com, providing the same level of support and service but aimed at women who are sole traders or running small businesses. Ann adds: ‘It isn’t exclusively for ladies, although generallythey seem to understand the proposal and are keen to delegate their IT requirements’.
Infineo’s involvement with Business Link has also led to some unexpected bonuses, as Ann explains: ‘Because our profile has been elevated we have been asked to attend exhibitions and shows which we might otherwise not have known about. It has certainly opened doors into other organizations.’
